This bead has matching mandalas on each side against a deep black background. The dot work surrounding the wheels are inspired by Australian Aboriginal art. A Mandala is a spiritual and ritual symbol in Indian religions, representing the universe or cosmos. These universal and diverse circular designs have also come to represent an inner psychological or spiritual state. The Native American medicine wheel is a mandala. It symbolizes many things at once: the four directions, the seasons, the elements and more. The colors of this wheel also symbolize the races of man called the rainbow wheel and the prayer of unity for all people and tribes of the earth.

Every bead I make is an original canvas, hand painted with porcupine quills and hand cut miniature brushes using acrylic paint. Wood is my bead canvas of choice because of its perfect painting surface, simplicity and light weight. The beads are then individually hand dipped into a two-part resin creating a glass like surface and making the beads versatile, tough and wearable. Grommets may be applied to the holes for finishing.
